For the Diaspora

Far from home.
Close to your capital.

Built for Kenyans living abroad — and for anyone who wants an ally on the ground when investing across East Africa. Full transparency, currency clarity, and a single point of contact in Nairobi.

The diaspora reality

The distance is real. The solutions are too.

Investing in Kenya from abroad has always come with the same quiet anxiety: who's actually checking the land? Who receives the rent? Who represents me at the land office? Whose word do I trust?

Agilvest exists because the honest answer — for most diaspora investors — used to be "a relative, if I'm lucky." That's not good enough for six- or seven-figure decisions. We've built the alternative: a professional firm with fiduciary duty, legal accountability and a paper trail you can actually hold us to.

We serve clients across Switzerland, the UK, Germany, the US, Canada, the Gulf and Australia — and we speak plainly about what can and can't be done from where you are.

Questions we hear often

Straight answers to the things that keep you up at night.

Can I buy land or property in Kenya without being physically there?

Yes. Most diaspora transactions we handle are closed remotely. We use a tightly scoped power of attorney witnessed at your nearest Kenyan embassy, independent legal review, and traceable bank transfers. You see every document before anything is signed.

How do I know the title is actually clean?

We conduct a full title search at the Ministry of Lands, trace the chain of ownership, check for encumbrances and confirm the seller's authority to transfer. The search results are shared with you in writing and form part of your permanent file.

What does this cost me?

All fees are disclosed upfront. Typically: an advisory fee scaled to transaction size, and — where you opt in — a management fee for ongoing property management. No commissions from third parties, no hidden spreads. You see the full economics before engagement.

What currency can I pay in? What currency do I receive income in?

Acquisitions are typically settled in KES via a regulated correspondent channel from EUR, GBP, USD, CHF or AED. Rental income can be held in a Kenyan account in your name, or remitted monthly/quarterly to you in your home currency — your choice.

What if I decide to sell in ten years?

We handle disposals end-to-end: valuation, marketing, qualified-buyer sourcing, negotiation, legal closing and capital-gains filing. For most clients the same team that bought the asset will, when the time comes, sell it.
